Abstract: The presentation will take a broad view of the research and R&D landscape in Romania, and how it collaborates with and competes with other countries in the global R&D system. The talk opens with a brief look at global grand challenges, then briefly reviews the data sources used for the analysis. A short discussion of the capabilities of large-scale data analysis follows.
